Life in Hawaii is so incredible and I feel fortunate to be here everyday, but life here, even though there are only a few, does have its challenges. Being the most isolated land mass on the planet, and having a six hour time change difference from the east coast where family lives can be tough at times. Having to make phone calls a strange times to stay in touch, and the challenge of traveling so far to see the people you care about can be tough. That is why it is so nice when family gets to make it out to you and you have the joy of sharing your experience.
I was lucky enough to have my parents and some aunts, uncles and cousins come out for a visit these last few weeks. It's awesome getting to bring everyone on adventures, and share the awesome Hawaii lifestyle they hear so much about.
Of course when you live somewhere and people come visit, they have all the free time and you have to continue with you routine of work and obligations. But when there's free time we got to fit in some fun activities.
Being far away when you finally get to reunite, it makes you appreciate and remember how fortunate you are to have them around and spend time with them.
